I am a qualified technician and member of the Piano Tuners Association. I have been working in Essex and Suffolk since 1983. By combining a traditional tuning background at Newark College with digital technology I can offer the very best piano tuning service.

Tuning in the home

I have a substantial portfolio of private customers in Essex and Suffolk, many of whom I have tuned for since my business began in 1983. Based in Colchester, I make regular visits to Chelmsford, Ipswich, and the other towns and villages of the region. I can be flexible, and by organising my work into areas I can achieve the highest quality service at a competitive rate.

Other towns that I visit regularly for piano tuning include: Braintree, Witham, Maldon, Tiptree, Sudbury, Brentwood, Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Wickham Market, Stowmarket, Halstead, Billericay, Brightlingsea, Clacton-on-sea, Frinton, Walton-on-sea, Harwich and Mersea Island.

Tuning for concerts

I have a good working relationship with The Colchester Arts Centre and The Old School at Hadleigh, where I tune regularly for concerts, master classes and music festivals. Other venues include the Corn Exchange in Ipswich, The Electric Palace Hadleigh, The Civic Theatre Chelmsford and The University of Essex. I am always happy to take on other concert work and by booking well in advance I can be flexible about working around performances and rehearsals.

Tuning in Schools and other establishments

I manage the tuning and maintenance of pianos in a number of Schools, both in the state and the private sector. I believe schools should get the same high quality service I give to all my clients, and that even newcomers to the piano should have access to the best possible instruments. Where a number of pianos are tuned regularly, I can usually offer a discount. I am always happy to give advice on replacing or reconditioning instruments, and can fit safety castors and A-frames where appropriate.

I have added to my toolbox the Verituner 100. The Verituner is a computer that can assist the trained and experienced tuner in getting accurate and consistent results for both domestic and concert tunings.
